Broadmoor is an expansive area located in southwest Colorado Springs, including prestigious neighborhoods like Broadmoor Heights and Broadmoor Hills. Broadmoor is a well-established and desirable residential area in Colorado Springs. As the community extends towards the west and up the slopes of the Cheyenne Mountain range, the homes become larger and more luxurious.

Many of the large, single-family homes in Broadmoor were built in the mid to late 20th century, and as such display a range of up-market styles for the time. These include wide and low modern-rustic ranch designs, with large decks, great-room windows, and open-concept interiors with prominent fireplaces. Rustic materials like riverstone and wood are common.

Broadmoor's neighborhoods to the east include classic suburban homes with a variety of split-level and garrison house designs, full basements and underslung-garages, vinyl siding and brick foundations.

Broadmoor Community

The Broadmoor area of Colorado Springs is located to the south of Cheyenne Road and west of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Highway, Route 115. It extends southwest of these boundaries to the slopes of The Horns and Cheyenne Mountain, including communities like Old Broadmoor, Broadmoor Heights, Broadmoor Hills, Broadmoor Bluffs, and Broadmoor Oaks.

The centerpiece of this extended area is The Broadmoor Hotel, a storied and luxurious establishment overlooking the area since the early 20th century. Including many resort facilities and a prestigious golf course, this hotel has lent the area its reputation for up-market style.

Neighboring communities include Skyway to the north, Ivywild and Stratton Meadows to the northeast, and Quail Lake to the east. From the northeast of Broadmoor, the downtown core of Colorado Springs is only a few minutes away, and the I-25 Highway runs by from the north and towards the east. The elevation of Broadmoor slowly rises towards the western slopes of the front range, providing excellent views of the surrounding area.

Broadmoor Amenities

As mentioned, the centerpiece of Broadmoor is The Broadmoor Hotel, built in 1918 and includes a golf course, The Broadmoor Golf Club, pools, tennis courts, stores, restaurants, and more.

The immediate area around The Broadmoor Hotel includes facilities like Broadmoor Hall, the Penrose Heritage Museum, Broadmoor Galleries, Cheyenne Mountain Country Club, the World Figure Skating Museum, and The Penrose House Conference Center.

There’s another country club in Broadmoor, along Route 115, the Country Club of Colorado, featuring a lake (Curr Reservoir), many tennis courts, and an olympic-sized pool.

Just past the northeastern corner of Broadmoor is the Broadmoor Towne Center, a large shopping complex with restaurants, a Home Depot, and more.
