Broken Bones and Unbreakable Spirit

Five years into this real estate journey, I’ve learned that some of life’s sweetest stories don’t always come from closings — they come from the floor of our living room. If you’ve ever read my monthly newsletter you’ve seen a special page drawn completely by my 10-year-old daughter, Adrianna. Each month, she hand-draws her own advertisement, collecting $5 sponsorships from local businesses — all on her own. She plans the layout, chooses her sponsors, and pours her creativity into every inch. It’s become one of the most loved pages in the paper, and truthfully, it’s the part that makes me smile the most. But this month looked a little different. Adrianna broke her arm during volleyball — both bones. For a while, she couldn’t use her hand at all. Watching her navigate that frustration was hard as a mom. I reminded her that healing takes time, that rest is part of progress. But if you know Adrianna, you know her creative spirit doesn’t sit still for long. The moment she got her permanent cast, she grabbed her pencils, spread out on our living room floor, and got to work on this month’s newsletter insert. I snapped a photo of her right there — determined, focused, and smiling through it. That picture means more to me than any closing photo ever could. Because it’s not just about art, or even about the newsletter. It’s about grit. It’s about showing up for the things you love, even when it’s hard. So, when you flip open the newsletter this month and see Adrianna’s drawings, know that they were created one careful line at a time — by a little girl with a big heart and an even bigger drive. Here’s to creativity, community, and to all the ways our kids remind us what resilience looks like. 💙
