Area of Monument

The town of Monument -- located at the very northern point of the Colorado Springs area -- is located in what is called the Tri-Lakes area.

Via the I-25, Monument is only 20 miles from the center of Colorado Springs, and not even an hour away from the downtown core of Denver. With both cities so close, living in Monument has all of the small town charms with benefits of two nearby major cities.

To the west of Monument, is the Pike National Forest, a protected area of forest in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The view of Pike Peak from this area is a stunning one for Monument residents.

The fast growing city of Colorado Springs is to the South of Monument, as are other flourishing neighborhoods, like Black Forest and Flying Horse. The United States Air Force Academy is also very close to the Monument area, and a point of pride for the residents.

On the other side of Monument is a drastically different landscape, from rolling plains to rocky outcroppings, Monument is a community with all of the natural beauty that the state of Colorado has to offer.

Monument Real Estate

The Monument real estate market is booming right now. This is partly because of the highly desirable location that includes so much breathtaking nature, as well as two nearby major cities with easy accessibility. It’s also due to the properties available.

The Monument homes for sale are especially attractive to home buyers because of the various listing prices on properties in the area. The traditional homes in the suburban setting of Monument are typically cottage, ranch, or colonial style homes.

The homes closer to the core of Monuments city limits often have oversized yards with balconies or concrete patios for breathing in the mountain air. Open-concept floor plans allow new home owners to create a space in their own style in these midsize to large single family homes. Pleasant neutral tones and colors in the interior, matched with new carpet or hardwood floors are found in most homes in the area.

Close to the edges of Monument, there are many luxury multi-million dollar properties available. These homes, many of which are custom-built, are located on massive properties, from views of rolling Colorado foothills, to tucked privately within the Ponderosa Pines.

Monument is also known in the region for being a fantastic community for raising kids. This is because Monument is a school choice community, which means there are opportunities here for public, chartered, and private schools, as well as home schooling.
